Join us for an informal, non-partisan evening of conversation, connection, and community-building over a pint. This event is open to public servants, students, and anyone interested in public policy.
We’re pleased to welcome Richard Johnson, co-author of Democracy’s Second Act: Why Politics Needs the Public, for a thought-provoking conversation on the role of the public in the democracy of tomorrow. Drawing on the legacy of the BC Citizens’ Assembly on Electoral Reform and more recent citizens’ assemblies in Canada and abroad, Richard will explore how democratic innovations are reshaping participation, rebuilding trust, and strengthening democracy in practice. The evening will feature a short talk followed by informal discussion.
The evening will include:
A 15–20 minute talk
Informal networking and social time
Come meet fellow public servants, connect with the IPAC-Victoria Board, share your ideas for future events, and be part of a growing community of policy-minded professionals in Victoria.
Entry to the event is free — pints not included.
